Ginger and Lemon Tea

There are days when you need something hot to drink but don't want the jittery feeling coffee gives you. Ginger and lemon in hot water gives you warmth and sharpness without the caffeine crash. The ginger brings heat, the lemon cuts through with acidity, and the honey (if you use it) rounds everything out. It's what you make when you want something that feels restorative but isn't sweet or milky. Ginger flakes save you from peeling and grating. Steep for 4 to 8 minutes depending on how much kick you want.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp SACO Ginger Flakes
  • 200-250ml hot water
  • 1/4 lemon
  • Honey or favourite sweetener (optional)

Method

  1. Add the ginger flakes to a cup or teapot.
  2. Pour over hot water.
  3. Steep for 4-8 minutes depending on preferred strength.
  4. Squeeze in the lemon.
  5. Add honey or sweetener if desired.
  6. Strain and enjoy.
